What to check before the provisional acceptance of your construction project in Belgium, and why an independent project manager makes all the difference.

<p>Provisional acceptance marks the transfer of risk and the start of the warranty periods. Signing too quickly is expensive. Here is what we check every single time.</p> <h2>Before the visit</h2> <ul> <li>Re-read the specifications and the signed bills of quantities.</li> <li>List every change accepted during the works.</li> <li>Request the technical data sheets and certificates (electricity, heating, waterproofing).</li> </ul> <h2>During the visit</h2> <ul> <li>Check every room against a written inspection grid.</li> <li>Photograph every defect, with its exact location.</li> <li>Test the installations: water, electricity, ventilation, joinery.</li> </ul> <h2>The acceptance report</h2> <p>The report must list <strong>every</strong> defect, each with a deadline for correction.
