Provisional acceptance: the checklist before you sign the report

Provisional acceptance marks the transfer of risk and the start of the warranty periods. Signing too quickly is expensive. Here is what we check every single time.

Before the visit

• Re-read the specifications and the signed bills of quantities.
• List every change accepted during the works.
• Request the technical data sheets and certificates (electricity, heating, waterproofing).

During the visit

• Check every room against a written inspection grid.
• Photograph every defect, with its exact location.
• Test the installations: water, electricity, ventilation, joinery.

The acceptance report

The report must list every defect, each with a deadline for correction. A defect that is not written down is a defect you have lost.
